Gawler Vintage Motocross State Championship Round for pre 90 solos & sidecars.

On Sunday July 16, the Gawler Club has agreed to run round 2 of the Vintage Motocross State Championship at the newly created “Natural Terrain” track at Ross & Carol Hannaford’s property at Finnis Point. Levis will run their traditional end of season event which will carry double points as the finale for the tri-series at ACUSA Pk on the 8th October.
Twelve months ago we had a non-comp event at Finnis Point with very promising feedback. This year we hope to up the ante some-what and install start gates and hay bale the corners to improve the layout for our first competitive motocross, albeit for the vintage bikes.
We are hoping to get somewhere between 50 – 60 entries with the inclusion of the Vets MX class from SAMX (South Australian Motocross) showing good enthusiasm to attend the event. We will also include a Gawler MCC (Gawler members only) class for solos as we did at last year’s day.
Any sidecar is welcome, however, probably an all in class as the ASA (Australian Sidecar-cross Association) club has expressed that they have a state title of their own at Loveday to attend. Depending on numbers will determine if we have it as a race class. We will also run a big wheel junior class.
The basis of the day is to run the Vintage solos & sidecars state title round which will include 9 classes. The other classes for the day will be a little more relaxed although I feel the Vets MX class may bring along the red mist.
